Located
in the heart of Tuscany, Il Granaio (the Granary) is our most
recently restored, 230 year old farmhouse and barn containing
eight bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, one half bath, a large
family room, a brick pizza oven, two game rooms, a pool and
a beautiful loggia for al fresco dining. The materials we used
to restore the property include chestnut beams, antique terracotta
floor tiles, travertine stone and cararra marble in the bathrooms,
and Philippe Stark shower and bath fixtures. The interior walls
are painted with warm Tuscan colors, the kitchen includes cherry
wood cabinets and stainless steel and cararra marble countertops,
and the entire house and barn are heated with a technologically
advanced under floor radiant heat.
Il Granaio is situated on the Casadorna estate in the triangle
formed by Florence (1 hour), Pisa (35 minutes) and Siena (40
minutes). It also is a short drive from the ancient hill town
of San Gimignano and the medieval hamlet of Castelfalfi with
it's challenging 18-hole golf course and castle restaurant.
